Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? We've got answers. Here are the most common questions we hear from prospective agents.
District 46 is designed to provide ongoing support after you open — including regular coaching sessions, access to marketing resources, and check-ins from your district mentor. The nature and frequency of support may evolve as your agency develops.
This isn't a franchise. Agency owners are independent contractors in the Farmers network, with Farmers' brand and resources behind them. You run your own agency, and you're building a book that you own real equity in. Your agency agreement can give you valuable rights in that business, including the opportunity to sell your service and commission rights, subject to the agreement and Farmers' approval.
Some candidates begin exploring the process while still employed elsewhere, particularly those considering the development path. Full agency ownership typically requires a dedicated commitment, and timelines vary by path. Talk to our team to discuss what a realistic transition may look like for your situation.
Prior insurance experience is not required. Farmers provides licensing support and training resources to help candidates build foundational knowledge. Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and a service orientation tend to support success in this role.
District 46 has been recognized three times as a Top 1% Farmers district nationally, with 40 agency owners across South Central Texas.
