1. Your Choices at a Glance

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Opt out of the sale of personal information.
  • Opt out of the sharing of personal information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising.
  • Opt out of certain profiling activities that may produce legal or similarly significant effects.
  • Limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information, where applicable.
  • Request access to personal information we maintain about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Appeal a privacy request decision.
  • Opt out of marketing emails, calls, or text messages.

You will not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

2. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Farmers District 46 does not sell personal information for money.

However, some privacy laws define “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” broadly. For example, certain website analytics, advertising pixels, retargeting tools, lead tracking tools, or social media advertising technologies may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or use of personal information for targeted advertising under certain state privacy laws.

You may opt out of this type of activity by using one of the methods below:

Option 1: Cookie Preference Tool — Click the “Manage Cookie Settings” button above and turn off non-essential advertising, analytics, or targeting cookies.

Option 2: Email Request — Email us at [email protected] with the subject line: “Privacy Choices Request.”

Option 3: Phone Request — Call us at 210-571-1737 and request to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising.

Once your request is processed, we will take reasonable steps to stop using your personal information for targeted advertising, sale, or sharing where required by applicable law.

Please note that your cookie-based preferences may be browser-specific or device-specific. If you use a different browser, clear your cookies, or use another device, you may need to update your preferences again.

3. Targeted Advertising Opt-Out

Targeted advertising means showing ads to you based on personal information collected from your activity over time and across non-affiliated websites or online services.

If Farmers District 46 uses advertising pixels, retargeting tools, CRM tracking, or similar technologies, you may opt out of targeted advertising by: using our Cookie Settings or Privacy Preferences tool above; emailing [email protected]; calling 210-571-1737; or using a supported browser-based opt-out preference signal, where required by law.

Opting out of targeted advertising does not mean you will stop seeing ads. It means the ads you see may be less personalized.

4. Global Privacy Control and Opt-Out Preference Signals

Some browsers and browser extensions allow you to send an opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control.

Where required by applicable law, Farmers District 46 will honor recognized opt-out preference signals that communicate your choice to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising.

Because these signals are typically browser-specific or device-specific, you may need to enable the signal on each browser and device you use.

5. Limit the Use of Sensitive Personal Information

Farmers District 46 does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through general public website forms unless necessary for a specific purpose and collected through an appropriate process.

Sensitive personal information may include items such as Social Security numbers, financial account information, precise geolocation, government identification numbers, health information, biometric data, or other legally protected categories.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information through general website forms unless the form specifically requests it and is intended for that purpose.

If you believe you submitted sensitive personal information and want to request that we limit its use or delete it, contact us at [email protected] or call 210-571-1737.

6. Profiling Opt-Out

Some privacy laws allow consumers to opt out of profiling when profiling is used to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects, such as decisions involving employment, insurance, financial services, housing, education, or access to essential services.

Farmers District 46 does not use website visitor data to make fully automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

If that changes, or if a process involves profiling subject to opt-out rights under applicable law, you may submit an opt-out request by emailing [email protected] with the subject line “Profiling Opt-Out Request.”

7. Marketing Communications Choices

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.

Email: Click the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contact [email protected].

Text Messages: Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

Phone Calls: Contact [email protected] or call 210-571-1737 and request to be removed from marketing call lists.

Please note that we may still send non-marketing communications related to your request, appointment, application, transaction, service matter, or legal/compliance obligations.

8. Access, Correction, and Deletion Requests

Depending on your state of residence and applicable law, you may request to: know whether we process your personal information; access personal information we maintain about you; receive a copy of personal information we maintain about you; correct inaccurate personal information; or delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions.

To submit a request, email [email protected] or call 210-571-1737.

We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. Verification may include confirming information you previously provided, asking for additional identifying details, or using another reasonable verification method.

9. Authorized Agents

Where permitted by law, you may authorize another person to submit a privacy request on your behalf.

We may require proof that the person is authorized to act for you. We may also ask you to verify your identity directly with us before we complete the request.

Authorized agent requests may be sent to [email protected] with the subject line “Authorized Agent Request.”

10. Appeals

If we deny your privacy request, you may have the right to appeal the decision.

To appeal, email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy Appeal” and include: your name; your contact information; the original request; and the reason you believe the decision should be reconsidered.

We will review and respond to appeals within the timeframe required by applicable law.
